Why plaster instead of drywall? On a flat office wall with a tight budget, drywall wins. We’ll say that out loud.
Plaster wins in four situations. When the wall takes real abuse. When the shape is curved or profiled. When acoustics matter. And when you’re matching something that already exists. If your project is one of those, drywall isn’t a cheaper version of plaster. It’s a different result.
Our owner has 25+ years in plaster and masonry, and we run interior plaster alongside our commercial exterior services.

Our residential interior plaster work covers the same finishes at house scale.
Patching plaster with drywall compound doesn’t work. It cures differently, it takes light differently, and under a raking window the patch reads across the whole wall.
Matching ornamental or profiled plaster is harder still. It means reading the original profile, running it, and blending the repair so it disappears. It’s slow, hands-on work, and there aren’t many crews in this area who take it on.
We quote this work after seeing the space, never from photos. It often sits alongside broader building restoration on the same building.
Plaster is still specified where buildings have to last. Schools and school district facilities. Churches and religious buildings. Healthcare and medical offices. Hospitality spaces. Municipal buildings. Multi-family lobbies and common corridors.
North Jersey has a deep stock of pre-war schools, churches, and municipal buildings across Bergen, Essex, and Hudson counties with original plaster still in place. When one of those needs work, drywall is usually the wrong answer. We also handle the masonry contractor side of those same buildings.
Schools don’t close. Hospitals don’t close. We phase work by area so the building stays usable, and we plan containment and dust control with the property manager before the first day.
We work Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a crew of 25 that speaks English and Spanish. You can see our work in the project gallery.
Interior plaster pricing depends on what’s already there, so we look before we quote. Site visits are free for property owners and commercial general contractors.
